Enjoy a calming ride from Dietikon to Wohlen and back along the unique Wohlen–Dietikon (S17) line — an 18.8 km, metre-gauge interurban that blends lakeside-corridor feel, forested valley running and classic street-running through Dietikon. The service is operated by Aargau Verkehr (AVA) as Zürich S-Bahn S17, with frequent trains (typically every 15–30 minutes) and a total journey time of just over 30 minutes one way. This route has a layered history: the original Wohlen–Bremgarten section dates to the 19th century while the Bremgarten–Dietikon section was constructed as a rural electric tramway — that legacy still shows in the tighter curves, steeper ramps and stretches of roadside and street running. Expect a mixture of single- and double-track running, a striking 156 m bridge over the Reuss near Bremgarten, and the company depot at Bremgarten (handy backdrops for depot shots and run-rounds).
