Opened in 2007 for its first phase and then in 2016 for the second, the East European High Speed Line (LGV) or New Line 6 and 8 (LN6 and LN8) was born from a project dating back to the end of the 1960s. Indeed, it took more than 35 years to see the completion of this project, a fast link between Paris and Strasbourg thus bringing the City of Light closer to the European capital, but also to Eastern Europe thanks to the many international TGV connections linking France and Germany. It is therefore on this line that our trip will take place today. 406km long, it has considerably shortened the travel time between Paris and Strasbourg, despite a profile that is not always easy. There are no fewer than 338 structures listed on this line, including the 1510m long Moselle viaduct and the 4000m long Saverne tunnel, to name just a few. We hope you enjoy discovering and have a pleasant journey through this new video! TGV photo credit: Jan Sozogni Sorry about the glare and bugs on the window. We hope you enjoyed the video.
